Career focus

At the BSoG, we offer our students a unique educational experience based on what we call the STEP approach to teaching and learning: our programmes are Student-centered, have a solid Theoretical knowledge base, their educational Excellence is guaranteed, and they are strongly Practice-oriented. It makes our School a prominent hub for the study of European and global challenges, from the BA right up to the PhD level. Find out what STEP can offer you.

Prestigious internship opportunities

The BSoG offers a variety of internships to our students. Our internship partners are prestigious and internationally renowned organisations and companies, ranging from European institutions to small start-up businesses, from think tanks to international corporations. It is important to note that these internships are available exclusively for BSoG students and only during the time that they are enrolled in one of our programmes.

Career seminars and individual coaching

The BSoG organises career workshops for its students to help them with their professional choices ahead. In their final year, our Bachelor students have access to career seminars and individual coaching sessions to ease their transition from university to the job market. Additionally, personalised coaching sessions help students create tailored job application materials, conduct mock interviews, and develop career plans.

Capstone project

Practice-oriented learning activities are often organised by adjunct professors, experts from the working field who combine their professional activities with a part-time teaching assignment. External speakers are also regularly invited to speak within specific courses, or during (extracurricular) events that are open to students. One particular example is the Capstone project, which aims for our BA as well as MA students to synthesise and draw upon their acquired knowledge and skills to address a complex, real-life policy problem for an external client from a major international organisation or a non-governmental organisation. The learning and research process is led by the students themselves, who have to work together in teams. The purpose of this course is for students to experience a professional work environment. Some recent examples:

Alumni community

The BSoG educational programmes have a large, international alumni community with whom we are regularly in touch through our quarterly IES Alumni Newsletter and Vesalius College Alumni Newsletter, as well as via alumni groups on social media. On those platforms, the BSoG as well as our alumni themselves share information about relevant upcoming events, vacancies, career updates, opportunities to contribute as alumni to our School’s activities, etc. Various alumni are also actively engaged with our School's activities, by giving guest lectures in our programmes, providing information to prospective students at Open Days or in webinars, hosting our interns in their organisations, etc.

Where do our graduates continue their studies?
