Harri Kalimo

Director of Research Centre

Harri Kalimo is a Professor at the Brussels School of Governance, teaching in its LLM in International and European Law programme of which he is a former Programme Director. Moreover, he is a Director of its Research Centre for Environment, Economy and Energy. Trained as a lawyer (LL.D; LL.M) and an economist (M.Sc. Econ & BA)), he co-manages the research centre on Environment, Economy and Energy. He holds a part-time professorship at the University of Eastern Finland (Law of the Circular Economy) and before his academic career, Prof. Kalimo held managerial and legal positions in Nokia Corporation.

In the LLM programme, Prof. Kalimo is the Chair of two courses: EU and international environmental law and the Case study on EU decision-making. His objective is to share with his students an inspirational ethos and the versatile combination of his academic expertise (EU, international and US environmental and economic law and their interactions, in e.g. the circular economy, sustainable trade and greening public procurement) practical experience (interest representation, Nokia), and advanced pedagogic skills and knowledge as a pioneer in innovative postgraduate teaching.
