On 6 October 2023, the Sahel Security Strategic Thinking Network (2r3s), in partnership with the team of the European Union Special Representative for the Sahel (EUSR), Her Excellency Ms Emanuela Claudia Del Re, the Centre for Migration, Diversity and Justice (Brussels School of Governance) and the Forum for Sahel-Europe Dialogue (Francisco de Vitoria University - Madrid, Spain) organised a conference on the challenges of the relationship between Europe and Africa in times of crisis and instability.
This meeting was a part of the continuity of the efforts led by the 2r3s in strengthening mutual capacities for anticipation and response to crises between the two continents. It aimed to conduct an operational reflection to support actors and resilience mechanisms in the Sahel and Gulf of Guinea regions.
The conference convened top-level speakers including HE Emanuela Claudia Del Re, Ms Beatriz de Leon Cobo, Mr Victor-Emmanuel Djomatchoua-Toko, Mr Omar Ba, Mr Hon Fabio Massimo Castaldo, Ms Michèle Peyron. The event was moderated by Dr. Christina Bache and Elie Perot.
