Dr. Zafer Kızılkaya is an Adjunct Professor in International Affairs at the Brussels School of Governance. He joined in September 2020 to work on a project on the Syrian conflict. He holds a PhD degree in Political Science at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). His research interests are in the field of Ethics in International Relations, Non-state armed groups and Middle Eastern studies. He is currently teaching “Conflict Resolution” at the Brussels School of Governance. He also has previous professional experience at NATO, covering the conflicts in Iraq and Syria and preparing regular reports on the political, economic and security developments in the Middle East.
