Michelangelo van Meerten

Associate Professor

Dr. Michelangelo van Meerten is an Adjunct Professor at the Brussels School of Governance. He has taught at Université Libre de Bruxelles, Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and Carlos III in Madrid. He was a research assistant at KULeuven and postdoc fellow at UCL. He has a Ph.D. in economics (economic history) from Groningen University in the Netherlands. 

His research areas are the economic history of Belgium in the 19th and 20th centuries, financial history, heights, railways, the economics of beer and economic growth. At Vesalius college he teaches ‘Economic growth and Development’ and ‘The Business of Beer: Economics, Marketing and Innovation’.
