Michael Rupp

Senior Associate Researcher

Dr. Michael Rupp is as a Senior Associate Researcher at the Brussels School of Governance. He has more than 20 years of experience in working for EU institutions at the European Commission and the European Parliament. He dealt mostly with Foreign and External Policies and Enlargement issues and now with the European Green Deal. From January 2015 until August 2018 he was Head of Section in the EU Delegation to Turkey. Since September 2018 he is Head of Sector/Team Leader on Green and Connectivity Policies for the EU's Eastern Partnership countries. He has an MA from the University of Kingston upon Hull and a PhD in European Politics from the University of Leeds. He has been a visiting lecturer at universities in Brussels, Ankara, Istanbul, Szeged, New Delhi, Paris, the New York University School of Law and the European University Institute in Florence. He is a frequent commentator and participant at panels and workshops and has been chairman, animator and presidency representative of numerous European Council simulations.
