Visiting Researcher

Kristin Anabel EGGELING is a Visiting Research Fellow in the Centre for Digitalisation, Democracy and Innovation of the Brussels School of Governance from May to December 2023, and full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and the Copenhagen Center for Social Data Science (SODAS) at the University of Copenhagen. Kristin holds a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Maastricht and a MLitt and PhD from the School of International Relations at the University of St Andrews.

Kristin’s research focuses on diplomacy, digitalisation, global tech politics and the use of ethnographic methods in International Relations. Kristin speaks and works in English, German and Danish and is, bien sûr, learning French. Since 2018, she has done extensive ethnographic research in the EU institutions in Brussels, insights from which have been published, among others, in Review of International Studies, European Journal of International Relations, and Global Studies Quarterly. At the University of Copenhagen, she is the Co-PI of a project funded by the Danish VELUX Foundation (2021-2026) on the EU’s agenda to attain ‘digital sovereignty’.
