Jordan Becker

Transatlantic Associate Fellow

Jordan Becker is the US Joint Staff liaison officer to the French Joint Staff in Paris, and Adjunct Professor at the Brussels School of Governance. He completed a PhD in War Studies at King’s College, London. Jordan’s areas of expertise include transatlantic security, defense economics, political economy, and defense planning. Jordan has Master’s Degrees from Sciences Po and Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. He has taught as an adjunct professor at Vesalius College and as an Assistant Professor at the United States Military Academy, West Point. Jordan is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. Before joining the IES, he was military assistant and speechwriter to NATO’s Chairman of the Military Committee, General Petr Pavel. He previously served as a Defense Policy Advisor to the United States Permanent Representative to NATO, Ambassador Douglas Lute. Operationally, Jordan served in the Middle East and Africa as an airborne infantry platoon leader and a Special Forces detachment commander from 2001-2009.
