Prof. Dr. Gloria González Fuster is an Assistant Professor of Law in the LLM in International and European Law programme of the Brussels School of Governance. She is also a Research Professor at the VUB’s Faculty of Law and Criminology, a Co-Director of the Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) Research Group, and a member of the Brussels Privacy Hub (BPH). She investigates legal issues related to privacy, personal data protection and security. She has a multidisciplinary academic background covering inter alia law and communication sciences.
Her course ‘Data Policies in the European Union (EU)’, part of the LLM’s Data Law option, offers a unique perspective into the evolving EU’s policies on and around data, encompassing the Digital Single Market and the Area of Freedom, Security, and Justice (AFSJ), and ranging from the EU cybersecurity strategy to Artificial Intelligence (AI) developments. She is also co-lecturer at the ‘International and European protection of human rights’ course in the same LLM programme, where she focuses on the role of the EU in protecting fundamental rights.
