Gianluca Sgueo (PhD public law, LLM European Public Law, JD Law) is a Senior Associate Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the Brussels School of Governance. He is also a Research Associate at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and Faculty Member at the Ecole d'affaires Publiques of SciencesPo Paris.
Since 2021 Gianluca has been Policy Advisor at the Digital Transformation Team of the Italian Government. Prior to this position, he was a Policy Analyst at the European Parliament (2014-2020) and Head of Communication and Stakeholders' Engagement of the Office of the Italian Prime Minister (2011-2013). In 2023 Gianluca was appointed Coordinator of the Fondazione Luigi Einaudi's Digital Department.
His research interests cover democratic decision-making, digital government and interest-representation. He has conducted extensive research on the use of game-design into public policy. His last book "The Design of Digital Democracy" was published with Springer Nature in 2023.
