Gianluca Sgueo

Gianluca Sgueo (PhD, public law, LLM European Law, JD Law) is a Senior Associate Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the Brussels School of Governance. He is also a Research Associate at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (Portugal). At CES, Gianluca is currently involved in a international research consortium, named 'PRODEMO', aimed at developing a mobile app to foster political participation of EU-mobile citizens. 

In 2021 Gianluca joined the cabinet of the Italian Ministry of Technological Innovation and Digital Transition. Prior to this position, he was a Policy Analyst at the European Parliament. 

His research interests include democracy, digital government, civic engagement and lobbying. He has conducted extensive research on the use of game-design into public policy, to foster participation and public sector's transparency.
