Ferran Davesa is a Postdoctoral Researcher in EU Governance and Participation at the Brussels School of Governance and the Department of Political Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He coordinates the research programme Evaluating Democratic Governance in Europe (EDGE) together with Dr. Serena D'Agostino. Davesa is involved in the GREMLIN project on Global and Regional Multistakeholder Institutions, which is a collaboration between the VUB, the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS) and the Centre for EU Studies at the University of Ghent (2017-2022).
His doctoral thesis analysed participatory governance in the EU’s youth policy field. His research interests include political participation, social movements and youth policy, with special focus on new technologies. His classes incorporate innovative teaching methods such as gamification and simulation games. From 2008 to 2013, Davesa was a researcher at the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) and at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). He holds an MA in International Relations from Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI), and a BA in Political Science from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Davesa has been a visiting researcher at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle.
