
Elena Atanassova-Cornelis
Adjunct Professor
Prof. Dr. Elena Atanassova-Cornelis is an Adjunct Professor at the Brussels School of Governance where she co-leads a Master’s level Capstone course, as well as teaches a class on “Diplomatic and Security Issues in the Indo-Pacific” in the MA programmes Global Security and Strategy, and Diplomacy and Global Governance. She is also a part-time Senior Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Antwerp and the Université Catholique de Louvain, both in Belgium, as well as a Visiting Professor at the Brussels School of International Studies of the University of Kent. Prof. Dr. Atanassova-Cornelis is concurrently an Associate Fellow, Global Fellowship Initiative, at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. Her research interests and expertise include international relations, security and strategic studies with a focus on Asia and the Indo-Pacific region, as well as Asia-Europe relations. Prof. Dr. Atanassova-Cornelis has authored numerous academic articles, book chapters, briefing papers and policy reports, and has vast experience in academic and executive teaching in Europe and Asia.
