Anne Van Bavel

Anne Van Bavel is a researcher at the Department of Political Science at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a coordination assistant of the strategic research programme Evaluating Democratic Governance in Europe (EDGE). She is also a member of RHEA, the research centre on Gender, Diversity and Intersectionality at the VUB. Anne holds a Master’s degree in history from the University of Antwerp and a Master’s degree in political science from the VUB.  

Her current research focuses on violence against women in politics in the Belgian context. Besides that, her main research interests are the political representation of women, gender-based violence, intersectionality and gender equality.
