GreenDeal-NET presentation at the inauguration of Iscte Knowledge and Innovation building

Iscte-Knowledge and Innovation: A Milestone in Scientific 

On November 20, 2023, University Institute of Lisbon (Iscte) marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new scientific research facility, Iscte_Knowledge and Innovation. This state-of-the-art building symbolizes a leap forward in Portugal's research and innovation landscape.

Esteemed Guests and Government Officials Gracing the Event 

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished members of the Portuguese government. Prime Minister António Costa led the lineup, accompanied by Elvira Fortunato, the Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education; Ana Abrunhosa, the Minister for Territorial Cohesion; Pedro Adão e Silva, the Minister of Culture; and two Secretaries of State. Their participation underlines the national importance of this research hub.

Showcasing Pioneering Research and GreenDeal-NET 

The event highlighted groundbreaking research by Iscte's various research centers. A focal point was the presentation of the GreenDeal-NET project. The core consortium of the GreenDeal-NET Network consists of 12 European universities from 11 European countries, coordinated by the Centre for Environment, Economy and Energy of the Brussels School of Governance. 

The GreenDeal-NET project was presented by CIES-Iscte researchers Helge Jörgens and Inês Rocha Trindade. They shared insights into the project and its significant impact on national climate policies in Portugal, showcasing the university's commitment to environmental sustainability and policy development.
