This event is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.

This year the International Journal on Minority and Group Rights (IJMGR) celebrates its 30 year anniversary. A first event to mark the occasion will be a public lecture in July by Professor Alexandra Xanthaki in Brussels. She is the current UN Special Rapporteur in the field of Cultural Rights, as well as Professor of Laws at Brunel University. The topic of the lecture will be ‘Minority Rights and Cultural Rights: Thoughts for the Future’.
The event is hosted by Professor Kristin Henrard of BSoG and will be followed by an opportunity for questions and answers, and concluded with a reception.

Over the years the IJMGR has grown ever more representative of the broad range of topics and disciplines that elicit academic reflection and analysis concerning the rights of minorities, indigenous peoples and other groups, with authors from across the globe. With five issues and about 1000 pages per year, the Journal is accompanied by a book series entitled Studies in International Minority and Group Rights with 16 volumes in print. More detailed information about both the Journal and the book series is available on the Brill website.

The event will take place on 12 July between 15-17 hours at the Brussels School of Governance (Pleinlaan 5, 1050 Brussels) in room Rome/Lisbon.

The event will also be livestreamed on the BSoG YouTube channel.

We would like to thank Brill Nijhoff, the Journal's publisher and the BSoG for their support in this event.
