
Lingyu Xu
Senior Associate Researcher
Lingyu Xu is a Senior Associate Researcher in the Research Centre for Migration, Diversity and Justice at the Brussels School of Governance. She is also a lecturer at the Anhui University, China.
Lingyu obtained her PhD in Political Science at BSoG-VUB in June 2021. Her research focuses on immigration policy, especially China’s immigration policy. Her PhD thesis “Changing China’s Immigration Policy - Which factors have driven China’s development of a more comprehensive policy approach?” explains how China changed its rigid “entry and exit” policies to one that includes permanent residence and integration.
Previously, Lingyu was a visiting scholar at Renmin University, China (2017-2018). Lingyu holds a MA in International Relations from the University of Edinburgh, UK (2015), a BA in Philosophy and a BA in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, both from Hubei University, China (2014).
