Video recordings from GOVTRAN network’s final conference series

A conference event series was organised, marking the end of the first three-year term of the Jean Monnet network GOVTRAN– Governing the EU’s Climate and Energy Transition in Turbulent Times, from 5 September- 7 October.

The series kicked off with a keynote by Diederik Samsom, Head of Cabinet of Executive Vice-President Frans Timmermans on Fit for 55% and climate neutrality, and closed with a keynote by Hans Bruyninckx, Executive Director of the EEA on the role of social science in the EU’s climate transition. Additionally five roundtable debates took place on topical issues ranging from trade policy, citizen participation, adaptation, Brexit and the European Climate Law. To conclude, a two-day closed workshop for climate governance scholars was organised to reflect on the need for a new research agenda and for enhancing the interface between research and policy making. The video recording from all the open events reflecting on current policy developments and looking to the future of EU climate and energy policy is available here.
