In 2023, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the European Union (EU) will celebrate their 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. In this regard, on 8 December 2022 the Embassy of the ROK to the EU held an end-of-the-year event to reflect on the deepening ROK-EU relationship and share ideas on its cooperation potentials.
Earlier this year, the Embassy has launched a 『Public Perception Survey』 dedicated to understanding the mutual public perception between the citizens of ROK and EU. In this light, we shared the results of the survey with the relevant officials and the public. Prof. Han Jeong Hun of Seoul National University in charge of the project delivered the presentation. Given that the scope of the survey includes politics, economy and culture, it provided a multi-dimensional understanding on how EU citizens and Koreans view each other.
Following the ceremony, H.E. Yoon Soon-gu, the Ambassador of ROK to the EU, delivered a lecture on the ROK-EU relationship. This was a special occasion for the students and audiences to hear on the ROK-EU bilateral relationship, and also a meaningful chance to engage in a Q&A session with the Ambassador. After the lecture, the floor was opened for a free discussion.
