Fairness project calls for trainers of trainers on cases of counter-terrorism

As a partner in the Fairness project funded by the European Commission's Justice and Consumers framework aimed at the Implementation of the Stockholm Roadmap in Cases of Terrorism and Radicalization, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is looking for local experts from the following four countries, to act as trainers of trainers: 

 

  • Belgium

  • Bulgaria

  • Italy

  • Portugal 

Candidates will get the opportunity to join the International Community of Practice, where European stakeholders deal with cases of radicalisation and counter-terrorism. You will receive practical information on the latest tendencies in the processing of legal cases, exchange best practises, and contribute to the improvement of the communication between judicial and law enforcement.

The trainers will take part in a 2-day training organised by Agenfor International and project partners in summer – autumn 2021 on the issues focusing on:

  1. Radicalisation (evolution of radicalisation models, counter-radicalisation strategies);
  2. Use of technologies within prisons (e.g. use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), use of mobile phones within prisons, use of social media); 
  3. The improvement of the cooperation between different actors within the criminal justice system (multi-agency approaches); 
  4. Impact of new data protection legislation on counter-radicalisation practices (e.g. information exchange).
