The Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy at the Brussels School of Governance (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) is proud to announce the formal creation of its Japan Chair. This is the first and only Japan Chair in mainland Europe and it will be led by Dr. Eva Pejsova.

The establishment of the Japan Chair marks a new chapter in engaging with Asia and the Indo-Pacific region, particularly by strengthening cooperation ties through high quality research on Japanese politics and foreign policy. Furthermore, the Japan Chair will seek to inform and shape the policy agenda, by confronting the Japanese and European leadership, focusing specifically on the EU and NATO.
