First consortia meetings of H2020 research projects 'Bridges' and 'Whole-comm'

The VUB-BIRMM team members Ilke Adam, Omar N. Cham and Florian Trauner, all part of our Centre for Migration, Diversity and Justice, participated in the BRIDGES consortium meeting in Barcelona from 16 to 18 May 2022. BRIDGES is a Horizon-2020 project funded by the European Commission that assesses the production and impact of migration narratives. Our team is responsible for a Work Package analysing the impact of EU-funded information campaigns on the decision-making of potential migrants in countries of origin and transit. The meeting in Barcelona discussed the progress of the project including first empirical findings and their theoretical implications.

VUB-BIRMM team members Ilke Adam, Louise Hantson and Laura Westerveen also participated in their first consortium meeting for the WHOLE-COMM project. WHOLE-COMM is a H2020 research project that studies immigrant integration of post-2014 migrants in small and medium-sized towns. The meeting took place in Turin from 30 May to 1 June. The VUB-BIRMM team is responsible for the work conducted in four small and medium-sized cities in Belgium.

It was the first time that the consortium members could meet physically given that Covid-travel restrictions no longer applied.
