On 21 and 22 April 2022, a team of BSoG students, Sophie Blandin and Marius Houwen of our MA in Global Security and Strategy, and Valentin Pfeffer and Alain Tao of our MA in Diplomacy and Global Governance, participated in the Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge organised by the Geneva Centre for Security Policy and the Atlantic Council. During this contest, their mission was to draw up policy recommendations for mitigating a disastrous cyber incident within a limited timeframe and they made it to the semi-finals! Our students jointly commented on this rewarding experience: ‘’Although we were not part of the final 4 teams, we are extremely proud of the hard work we have put in and the lessons we have learned. Given the urgency required in this challenge, it was extremely demanding to draw up policy recommendations based on new scenario developments overnight. The amazing constructive feedback by the experts of the field made the all-nighters worth it!''. We would like to thank the organisers for hosting our students in this comprehensive and well thought out event!
