Europe and Japan in a Changing World

Monday 24 October 2022, 09:00 to 11:30

Venue: International House of Japan, 5-11-16 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo 106-0032

Timing: 16:00-18:30 JST time

Europe and Japan have never been closer. The rise of authoritarianism, unilateralism and current rapprochement between Russia and China proves once again the interconnectedness of the Asian and European security theatres with major implications for global stability and rules-based order. Against this background, likeminded democracies on both sides of the Indo-Pacific look for ways to increase their leverage through bilateral channels, as well as within existing multilateral security frameworks. While Europe may be a new-comer on the Indo-Pacific security scene, its role is likely to grow.

In this context, the Indo-Pacific Futures Platform (INFORM), an EU funded project implemented by the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) of the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG) conveys a public event in collaboration with the International House and Japan, the Asia Pacific Initiative and the Institute of Geoeconomics in Tokyo, Japan. This is a physical event, should you wish to attend, kindly fill in this registration form below by Friday 21 October (link available until midnight).
