Sevgi is a Senior Associate Researcher at the Brussels School of Governance. She holds an MA in International Relations from the Defense Sciences Institute of Turkish Military Academy and a BA in Political Science from Middle East Technical University. She worked in Turkish General Staff (as a civilian expert) and in the Ministry for EU Affairs in Turkey.
Her research interests focus on Justice and Home Affairs policies, politicization and mediatization of migration-related issues and their impacts on European integration, dynamics of differentiated integration and disintegration of EU and discursive shifts in migration policies.
